     Dr. Dougherty received her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of California-Davis in 1987. She then completed an internship and her residency in internal medicine at Cornell University in 1990. After finishing her residency, Dr. Dougherty was a member of the faculty in internal medicine and physiology before moving to California in 1991 to join Drs. Gilmore and Parchman in opening South Bay Veterinary Specialists.
     She and Dr. Parchman moved to Bend to open Bend Veterinary Specialists in 2004. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

     After receiving his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 1984, Dr. Parchman entered small animal private practice. After a year in practice he returned to academia and completed a rotating internship at the University of Saskatchewan and then a small animal surgical residency at Cornell University in 1989. Following his residency, Dr. Parchman was a member of the faculty of surgery for 2 years before joining Dr. Dougald Gilmore and Dr. Sue Dougherty to open South Bay Veterinary Specialists in San Jose, CA in 1991. He and his wife, Dr. Sue A. Dougherty left SBVS in 2003 and opened Bend Veterinary Specialists in July 2004.
     Dr. Parchman is board certified in surgery and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeon. He is also certified in small animal veterinary acupuncture, a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, The International Academy of Veterinary Pain Management and
